Surface Technologies was formed in 1989 as a specialty contracting company, focused on the installation of high performance, seamless wall finishes (Zolatone) and Ashford Formula concrete densifier.
In 1998, at the inception of the polished concrete process, Surface Technologies expanded its scope to processing and polishing concrete. We have been heavily involved with the industry’s leading equipment and material suppliers, assisting in developing and improving the system as a whole.
As a result of our extensive experience and commitment to quality, we have had the pleasure of working on the most recognizable and prestigious polished concrete projects in our area, including The National Aviary, The Carnegie Museum (Portal Entry, classrooms, and Fine Art Storage), The Andy Warhol Museum, Carnegie Science Center Sportsworks, University of Pittsburgh Mascaro Center for Sustainability (new and existing), University of Pittsburgh Falk Laboratory School (new and existing), Fed Ex Ground Corporate Headquarters, The Cabaret Theater at the O’Reilly, American Eagle Corporate Headquarters, St. Stanislaus Kostka (historic church in the Pittsburgh strip district), The U.S. Department of Energy at Morgantown, WV, Carnegie Mellon University Bill Gates Computer Science and Hillman Buildings, The Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Pittsburgh, The Vukovich Center for the Performing Arts at Allegheny College, IUP Convocation Center, the subway platforms at the Northshore Connector, and the new student union at Slippery Rock University.
